Lindsay

Hi, I’m Lindsay Conner, an author, modern quilter, editor, and founder of the Lindsay Sews blog. I’m a Baby Lock ambassador and Stash Books author who loves writing modern sewing and quilt patterns for beginners and weekend sewists! I live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my husband, son, and two loveable cats, Murph and Chloe. I’ve been crafting for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I saved my dollar bills for trips with my mom to Jo-Ann Fabrics, where I’d find new floss for friendship bracelets or mini cross-stitch kits. Because my mom has always shared my love for crafting, she bought me my first sewing machine, a Hello Kitty Janome.

My goal is to schedule more time in my sewing room. When life gets busy, my sewing and quilting goes by the wayside and I get cranky when I can’t create!

  5. Rachel says:
    March 19, 2013 at 10:56 am

This year I would like to further my quilting and sewing skills in terms of quality of workmanship. Practice makes perfect.

  6. Colleen says:
    March 19, 2013 at 11:00 am

My goal is to design a quilt myself, rather than always following a pattern.

  7. Tonia Jeffery says:

My biggest undertaking right now is a king sized cathedral quilt. I’ve never quilted before so it is really pushing me.

I have two creative goals for myself this year. First is a king size scrappy quilt. I’m not a quilter, I consider myself an advanced beginner so this is a huge undertaking for me. It’s slow going but I still believe I’ll get it done by year end.

Second goal is drawing. I’ve always wanted to learn how to but never even tried. Until the beginning or March when I decided to teach myself. One drawing everyday. My six year old son is joining the fun.

I never had much artistic success as a child… I was a straight A student except for art and gym (can you imagine me now?). I was never able to accurately reproduce the objects or photographs we were always supposed to draw. Fast forward about 30 years, and my greatest joys are when I accomplish something creative. I move slowly, try things a bit at a time… and have more joy in the abstract than in the literal. I want to improve my skills at drawing and painting, and want to continue to sew and quilt(which gives me my greatest artisstic satisfaction!).
