Often made of metal, gold, or silver, bangle bracelets are common accessories that are usually worn on the wrist or arm. Most women and some men love wearing this item to special occasions such as weddings, dinners, and get-togethers.

A bracelet is flexible and can usually be opened and closed with a clasp or hook while a bangle is usually made from rigid metal with no hooks or clasps.

What Do Bangle Bracelets Mean?

In India,  red bangles represent prosperity and energy, and green signifies success and fertility.

If you’ve ever attended an Indian wedding, you’ll notice that the bride wore bangles. These items are more than a fashion accessory to them, and they represent a married life and prosperity.

In Pakistan, Bangladesh, and even Nepal, the brides also wear bangle bracelets on their wedding day. Chinese parents make bracelets from jade and give them to their children as a form of protection. And of course, some high school teenagers use bangle bracelets as a symbol of friendship. They believe it is a bond that secures their relationship with friends.

Why Is It Called A Bangle Bracelet?

As mentioned earlier, the word “bangle” has its origin in Hindi, and it means “ringed-shaped anklet.” Bracelet is derived from the word “branchialle” which means anklet. Since anklets are known as an ornament that is worn around the ankle, this may be how the bangle bracelet got its name.

How Do You Wear A Bangle Bracelet?

While a bangle bracelet can improve your stylish dressing, it can also make you look awkward. Therefore you need to know how to wear these accessories the right way and at the right time.

Here are simple three ways to wear a bangle bracelet:

  • Choose Bracelets That Matches Your Skin-tone

Knowing your skin tone will help you make the right choice when picking bangle bracelets. For example, gold or bronze bracelets are perfect for people who have warm-toned skins.

One advantage of wearing jewelry that fits your skin tone is that it will make you look more fashionable.

  • Be Simple and Classy

There’s a limit to the number of bracelets you can wear to a business meeting or class, practice simplicity. Most times, one or two bracelets will earn you more compliments than 4 or 5 on a wrist.

Remember, quality is more important than quantity!

Also, if you are married and love to wear a bangle bracelet, you should consider the type of wedding rings you wear. You shouldn’t be seen adorning a bangle bracelet that doesn’t blend perfectly with the color of your bridal ring or Mens Wedding Bands.

Ensure that the combination of the bangle bracelet and wedding rings you wear makes you appear classy. Wearing clashing colors of jewelry like that will make you look unorganized especially if you work in a formal setting. Keep everything simple!

  • Put Occasions Into Consideration

While trying to make a fashion statement, you should always consider where you’re going. When attending a funeral, for example, it is not appropriate to wear flashy and excess bracelets.

Bear in mind that there are specific bracelets for different occasions, depending on your need. Therefore always try to make the right choice and wear them correctly.
