The sc3tog stitch (abbreviated from “single crochet three together”) is a decrease stitch that is worked over three stitches. To work the sc3tog, you will insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (three loops on hook), insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (four loops on hook), insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (five loops on hook), yarn over and draw through all five loops on hook. The sc3tog decreases one stitch.

This particular decrease can be worked in two ways- with the right side facing or with the wrong side facing. If you are working the sc3tog with the right side facing, you will work from left to right. If you are working the sc3tog with the wrong side facing, you will work from right to left.

The sc3tog is a relatively easy stitch to master, and once you get the hang of it, it works up quickly. This stitch is often used in crochet patterns to create shapings, such as decreasing armholes or necklines. It can also be used for decorative purposes, such as creating ruffles or textures on a project.

When working the sc3tog, it is important to pay attention to your tension so that your stitches remain even. You may find it helpful to practice the stitch a few times before using it in a project.

Hello crochet lovers, we are here to show you how you can crochet a single crochet three-together (sc3tog).

The sc3tog stitch is an essential crochet stitch because it allows you to decrease the number of stitches in a row or round. Mahnoor Malik Awan

Hi, I’m Mahnoor Malik Awan, a Crocheter, artist, freelancer, and writer. Art & Craft have been my best buddy for as far as I can remember. I used to make clothes and write stories when playing with my dolls. I even tried to record a film with my camera phone at the age of 10, where I was the director, writer, producer at the same, along with making the dolls act. I love to crochet, there’s nothing that I haven’t tried with it; from home decor to amigurumi to clothes and much more. I still remember how I used to sleep all day after school and one day my Mom bought me a hook and a ball of yarn and dropped me at my neighbors. She said “No More Sleeping In Noon.” And drove off. I’m still grateful to her for making this decision for me. I live in Pakistan with My Parents and Siblings. My Love for Craft has Honoured me with the Title of Crocheter and Ghostwriter. The Two jobs that don’t feel like working at all.
